For My Sister

Race on The Agenda / Media Trust Films

For My Sister centres on a research conversation between Xaira, a Race on the Agenda’s Peer Researcher, and Sayo, a sickle cell advocate and content creator. Both sisters are shaped by the experiences of their sisters living with Sickle Cell Anemia.

Xaira is particularly motivated by her sisters’ experiences of medical neglect and talks to Sayo about her grief and activism. The film connects the personal to the political, showing how private grief and pain can become public action through Race on the Agenda’s Community Research Programme.
