Mia Harvey is an award-winning director, producer and cinematographer. Inspired by her Caribbean heritage, Mia's directorial focus explores the joys and pains of everyday human life through the intersection of race, power, history, and gender. As an accomplished self-shooter, her intimate observational camera work unveils the subtle nuances of her subjects' inner worlds.

Her short film, "With Woman," won Best Student Film at the 2023 Grierson Awards, received an IDA nomination, Vimeo Staff Pick and is now available on The Guardian Documentaries.

In her role as a producer, Mia has contributed to a diverse array of documentaries for major TV broadcasters. Her notable works include the BAFTA-nominated "Black Power: A British Story of Resistance," (BBC TWO) executive produced by Sir Steve McQueen and James Rogan, and the Grierson nominated "A Paedophile in My Family: Surviving Dad," (Channel 4). She was also selected for the Sheffield Doc Fest UK Broadcast Production Talent 2021 and the Banijay UK Emerging Talent Bursary 2023.
 
Mia is currently in development for her debut feature documentary based on her graduation film With Woman, after winning BBC Storyville’s Early Development Pitch at Sheffield Doc Fest.
